This is a blog about games publishing.
I’m Mark Sargeant. I’m a Principal Product Manager on Riot’s R&D publishing team. My focus is on the earliest publishing questions: when games are still forming, signals are incomplete, and teams need to make real calls before clarity arrives.
All views and opinions expressed are my own.
I decided to start writing this blog in 2026 because I wanted to sharpen my own thoughts, explore ideas I don’t always get to unpack, and connect with other people with similar interests.
When I entered the games industry in 2016, there wasn’t much writing about games publishing, especially for live service games. And even today, there isn’t a lot of stuff out there. Yet, reaching players, earning their trust, and keeping a game healthy over time has never been harder.
This blog is an attempt to close that gap.
I don’t have everything figured out. Far from it to be honest. Sometimes I’ll be wrong. That’s part of the point.
